UNLOCK YOUR REAL ESTATE SUCCESS
RETI Blog

Have you ever started something in your real estate business with great excitement…
Only to stop a few weeks later?
You decide you're going to prospect every day.
You do it for a week.
Then something gets busy.
You decide you need to focus on social media instead.
So you start posting every day.
Then you see another agent doing something different.
Now you're wondering whether you should be doing video.
Then maybe you hear about a new lead-generation strategy.
So you change direction again.
And before you know it, you're six months down the line and you've started six different things but finished none of them.
Sound familiar?
Here's the uncomfortable truth:
Sometimes your problem isn't that your strategy isn't working.
Sometimes you simply haven't given it enough time to work.
This is why I love the idea of committing to 90 days of focused action.
Not because 90 days is some magic number.
But because it gives you enough time to stop constantly restarting and start building momentum.

There is something very exciting about starting.
A new plan feels fresh.
A new strategy feels exciting.
A new notebook feels motivating.
A new app feels like the thing that's finally going to organise your entire business.
And for a little while, you feel like you're making progress.
But starting isn't the same as building.
Building requires repetition.
And repetition isn't always exciting.
That's where many agents get stuck.
They don't necessarily need another idea.
They need to stay with the right actions long enough to see what happens.
RETI's START Programme philosophy makes this distinction clearly: the basics may be simple, but they aren't always easy to do. Results come from knowing what to do and then actually doing it consistently.
This is one of the hardest things about being a real estate agent.
You can do the right thing today and see absolutely nothing happen tomorrow.
You can make ten calls today and not get a listing.
You can create a video today and get very little engagement.
You can speak to a potential seller today who says:
“We're not ready yet.”
Does that mean the activity was wasted?
No.
Because real estate often has a delayed result.
The actions you take today can create opportunities weeks or months from now.
That's why judging your business only by today's results can be dangerous.
You might be planting seeds that haven't grown yet.
And if you keep digging them up to check whether they're growing, you'll never give them a chance.

Here's a question I want you to ask yourself:
What would your business look like three months from now if you consistently did the right things every working day?
Not perfectly.
Not for 90 days without missing a single day.
Just consistently.
Imagine you spent the next three months deliberately focusing on:
Starting more conversations
Following up with people
Building relationships
Creating useful visibility
Learning your market
Improving your skills
Tracking your activity
Serving your existing clients exceptionally well.
What could change?
You might have more conversations.
More conversations could create more appointments.
More appointments could create more opportunities.
More opportunities could create more listings and transactions.
And those results could create referrals and repeat business.
The important part is that you don't always see the entire chain when you start.
You simply need to take the next action.

This is a big mindset shift.
Let's say you set yourself a goal of getting four listings this month.
You work hard.
You have conversations.
You follow up.
You meet with sellers.
And you get two listings.
Was the month a failure?
No.
You achieved 50% of your listing target.
But you also created conversations, relationships, appointments and future opportunities.
Now let's turn it around.
Imagine you got four listings, but you did almost nothing to build your pipeline for the future.
Which business is healthier?
The answer isn't always as obvious as it seems.
That's why you need to track leading activities, not just final results.
The START Programme repeatedly reinforces tracking your numbers and understanding the activities behind your results rather than simply waiting for transactions to happen.
Your results tell you what happened.
Your activity tells you why it happened.

Here's where agents can get themselves into trouble.
They decide:
“For the next 90 days I'm going to fix everything!”
They're going to:
Rebrand
Start YouTube
Start TikTok
Call 50 people a day
Build a database
Learn AI
Create a newsletter
Start farming
Redesign their website
Do more show houses
Learn Canva
Run Facebook ads
Start networking.
And then they wonder why they burn out.
That's not focus.
That's a shopping list.
Your 90 days should have a small number of priorities.
For example:
Focus on deliberately creating more quality conversations.
Make sure opportunities don't disappear simply because you didn't stay in touch.
Show your market consistently that you are active, knowledgeable and available.
The exact activities will depend on where you are in your business.
But the principle stays the same:
Do fewer things better.

This is another trap.
You decide you're going to post five times a week.
Then one week gets crazy.
You only post twice.
And you think:
“Well, I've already messed it up.”
So you stop.
No.
That's not how consistency works.
Consistency doesn't mean you never have a bad day.
It means you return to the plan.
You miss a day?
Get back to it tomorrow.
You have a bad week?
Start again on Monday.
You make a mistake?
Learn from it and keep going.
One imperfect week doesn't destroy your business.
But constantly abandoning your strategy does.
There is a powerful idea running through RETI training: consistency is what transforms average into excellence, because the people who become good at something keep doing the activity even when they don't feel like doing it.
And I mean that as a compliment.
If your plan changes every three days, you don't have a strategy.
You have a reaction.
A good 90-day plan might actually feel a little boring.
You know what you're doing.
You know when you're doing it.
You track it.
You review it.
You improve it.
Then you do it again.
And again.
And again.
That's how skills develop.
That's how habits develop.
That's how pipelines develop.
And that's how businesses develop.
You won't always feel motivated.
Nobody does.
There will be days when you don't want to pick up the phone.
Days when creating content feels like hard work.
Days when rejection gets to you.
Days when you're convinced everyone else is doing better than you.
That's normal.
The question isn't:
“How do I feel today?”
The better question is:
“What did I commit to doing?”
Your feelings can be acknowledged without being allowed to run your business.
This is one of the reasons implementation matters so much.
The IMPLEMENT Membership philosophy is built around the idea that members don't simply consume training—they take action, complete their missions and turn learning into something they've actually put into play.
You don't have to feel ready.
You have to take the next step.
Here's where the real magic happens.
At the end of your 90 days, don't simply ask:
“How much money did I make?”
Ask:
Did I become more consistent?
Which activities produced conversations and opportunities?
Where did you waste time or effort?
Are you better at the activity than you were 90 days ago?
Keep the things that are working.
Improve the things that aren't.
That's how you turn 90 days into the next 90 days.
You don't start from scratch.
You build from where you are.
This might be the biggest message I want you to take from this blog.
If your business isn't where you want it to be, you don't necessarily need to throw everything away.
You might simply need to go back to the basics.
Look at your numbers.
Look at your activities.
Look at your pipeline.
Look at your consistency.
Look at where your time is going.
Then make a decision.
What are the few things that, if I consistently did them for the next 90 days, would make the biggest difference?
That's your starting point.
Not another shiny new strategy.
Not another random course.
Not another week of planning.
Action.
Your future business is being built by the things you repeatedly do today.
You cannot control exactly when a seller will call.
You cannot control when a buyer will make an offer.
You cannot control how quickly a deal will close.
But you can control whether you show up.
You can control whether you follow up.
You can control whether you keep learning.
You can control whether you stay visible.
You can control whether you do the activities that create opportunities.
So instead of asking:
“What new thing should I try?”
Ask:
“What should I commit to doing consistently for the next 90 days?”
That question could change the way you build your business.
Want to Go Deeper?
The problem isn't always a lack of knowledge.
Sometimes you know exactly what you should be doing.
The challenge is actually doing it consistently.
That's why the IMPLEMENT Membership is built differently.
IMPLEMENT is an action-driven resource for real estate agents who want to Step Up. Skill Up. Tech Up. It gives members ongoing training, practical tools, templates, live Q&A support and access to multiple Focus Areas—including Positioning, Content, Lead Generation, Communication, Listings, Pricing, Marketing, Visibility, Tech Integration and Legacy.
You don't need to wait until January.
You don't need to wait for the next quarter.
And you certainly don't need to wait until you feel completely ready.
Start with the next action.
Then the next one.
Then the next one.
Because three months from now, you will either have three months of excuses…
or three months of implementation behind you.
